Portraits of Change is an ongoing music-technology project that aims to cultivate live music appreciation through bold and unabashed innovation. For Peak Arts Prize 2020, I submitted Portraits of Change as an individual artist.

Description

Utilizing Mixed Reality and MIDI technologies, this project introduces a new medium of live music visualization. By bringing 21st-century tools to 21st-century musicians, we hope to contribute to the innovative musical heritage of jazz.

Portraits of Change will feature six different pieces of music that have been influential or innovative to jazz in some way. Each piece will vary radically in style, genre, and instrumentation, reflecting the diverse roots of jazz and expanding its future.
