Live Music in Mixed Reality
The Vision
Portraits of Change bends reality and creates impossible visual wonders driven through harmonic information captured in real-time. Utilizing Mixed Reality and MIDI technologies, we contribute towards the innovative heritage of live music performance by introducing a new medium of live music visualization.
Core Concepts
Mixed Reality
Using VR and AR, we can transport the audience inside the music. If a TV is a window, VR is climbing through it. We create immersive 3D experiences that respond directly to the live performance.
Music Technology
MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) is the bridge between the physical and virtual worlds. We use it to capture data from acoustic and electronic instruments, which then drives the visual effects in real-time.
